Comprehensive Communications enhances Internet In Motion with
EV-DO Broadband Performance for mobile and remote communications
Enhanced services broaden applications to include commercial and industrial wireless IP networks
Palatine, IL - August 7, 2006 - Comprehensive Communications Systems Corp. (CCSC) today announced the addition of broadband performance to its Internet In Motion series of wireless communications products. Internet in Motion now incorporates cellular/PCS CDMA EV-DO technology to provide high-speed wireless communications to on-the-go.
Internet In Motion provides users with wireless internet connection throughout the country on the Sprint PCS digital network. The addition of EV-DO not only provides broadband-speed connections, but extends the reach of the connections to the largest all-digital, all-PCS nationwide network. The new technology, in addition to much higher speeds, has also proven to experience significantly fewer dropped connections
Using traditional 1XrTT cellular technology, CCSC has focused primarily on the recreational vehicle marketplace, keeping RV users connected to the internet while they are on the road. Enhanced with EV-DO technology, Internet In Motion becomes ideally suited to a broad range of mobile and remote applications where rapidly downloading large amounts of data is of paramount importance. In law-enforcement and public safety, for example, officers need to quickly display data-intensive applications in order to respond to immediate situations. According to Joyce Cutsforth, President of CCSC, “Commercial and industrial users can now think of Internet in Motion as a wireless extension of their IP Network for remote and mobile applications.” Public safety, financial transactions, telemetry, remote instrumentation, and surveillance, are ideal applications.
Key components of the Internet In Motion solution value proposition are the high quality external mounted dual tri-band Phantom antennas coupled with a cellular router optimized for the internet and data communications. “CCSC’s unique remote Support and Network Management System has been also developed to increase over-all performance and improve Quality of Service, and to reduce on-going operational costs associated with mobile and wireless remote IP networks,” adds Cutsforth.
In addition to broadband performance, Internet In Motion also supports Assisted Global Positioning (A-GPS) a network positioning technology widely deployed for wireless E9-1-1. AGPS employs the power of the wireless network to provide precise positioning even in environments such as urban canyons and parking garages where conventional GPS would be unreliable. The integration of A-GPS and broadband wireless data makes Internet In Motion ideal addressing applications such as mobile service trucks, emergency vehicles, and fleet management.
